  • Bikeshare Mobile Technology Technician

    WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
    The Mobile Technology Technician reports to the Supervisor, Bikeshare Maintenance and Electrification and is responsible for overseeing and actively maintaining CapMetro’s expanding system of Bikeshare station kiosks, station point of sale (POS) network, and all other mobile technologies to the highest standards possible. Other mobile technologies used for the Bikeshare system are also overseen by this position including but not limited to field radio network, GPS asset tracking systems, mobile POS units, wireless standalone networks, DMS signage, solar charging arrays, battery-power networks, and more.  The troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment used throughout the Bikeshare system must be timely with this system that is always operational daily.  These activities may be accomplished directly, through coordination with Service Reliability Technicians, and through multiple contracts and contractors. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, inclusive, and fun environment that ensures Bikeshare is an enjoyable place to work for everyone.
     
    WHAT YOU BRING

    • Associates degree in mobile electronics, electrical engineering, computer science or technology or any related discipline.  Additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to two (2 years.
    • Three (3) years’ experience in administering mobile electronics, bikeshare technology, radio communications, technology support for bikeshare system or equivalent operation, electronic or wireless system support and/ or repair.
     
     
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
     
    • Knowledge of current bikeshare systems architecture and experience with mobile communications hardware and software.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn asset tracking programs such as INFOR or other database systems.
    • Ability to research and troubleshoot and find solutions to problems.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.  Using coaching skills, good listener, clear and concise communicator, empathetic and respectful of others.
    • Ability to use sound judgment.
    • Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing including ability to timely completion of assignments and projects, willingly undertake special assignments, manages time to address task during normal working hours.
    • Physical ability to perform walk-through inspections and disassemble heavy equipment to access technologies to be serviced.
    • Ability to be on call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
    • Must maintain a current valid Texas driver's license and acceptable MVR per CapMetro’s current standards.
